Wireless PiHead Tracker
Building on what we learned from the current device, we're developing a wireless model: no cable, a rechargeable battery and a quieter sensor. It's still a prototype, so we aren't giving a date or price yet.
What we're aiming for
The most common requests from users and the things we want to improve on the current model.
Wireless connection
A low-latency link through a small USB receiver. No Bluetooth pairing.
Rechargeable battery
A built-in battery for long sessions, charged over USB-C. It will also work wired while charging.
Less noise and drift
A lower-noise motion sensor, aiming for a smoother view and less drift.
Smaller body
A body that takes up less space on the headset, and a new mount that fits more headsets.
Wireless updates
Firmware updates from inside the app, as today, without plugging in a cable.
The same app
The new model will work with the free app you use today. Your profiles and curves stay as they are.
How it will work
Setup will be the same as today. Plug the receiver into your computer and the app finds the device by itself.
Device on your headset
Measures how your head turns and sends the readings wirelessly.
USB receiver
A small receiver plugged into the computer picks up the readings. No pairing needed.
PiHead Tracker app
Today's app processes the movement; your profiles and curves work as they are.
Game
The game receives the movement through TrackIR or FreeTrack, just like today.
Development process
We openly share where we are and update this page and the news when a stage is finished.
Wired PiHead Tracker
The device, its firmware and the free Windows app.
Prototype
We're working on the wireless link, the battery and the new sensor.
Beta test
Trying it in real games with users chosen from the waiting list.
Sales
Announced to the waiting list first.
Current model and wireless model
The current model will continue to be supported and updated.

The wireless model is in development. Features may change during testing.
Beta test
Once the prototype is ready, we'll test it in real games with a group of users. Tell us in the form below if you'd like to take part.
Who can join
Players who regularly use head tracking in simulation games and live in Türkiye. You don't need to own the current device.
What we ask of you
Use the device in your games for a few weeks and fill in short feedback forms.
What you get
You try the new model before anyone else, and your feedback directly shapes the final product.
Questions about the wireless model
What happens to my current device?
The wired model will continue to be supported. App updates and firmware updates will keep coming to it too.
When will it come out, and what will it cost?
We're still at the prototype stage, so it's too early for a date or price. When we know, the waiting list will hear first.
Will the wireless link add latency?
We're aiming for the same feel as the wired model. That's why we use a dedicated receiver instead of Bluetooth; we'll measure latency in real games during the beta.
Will my profiles and settings work?
Yes. The new model works with the same app; your game profiles, curves and shortcuts stay as they are.
Can I use it while it charges?
Yes. With the USB-C cable connected, the device also works wired.
